      <title>Transnational Meeting in Turkey</title>

            The District Governorship of Karabaglar of Izmir, Turkey, hosted AdultsOnTheMove!`s third transnational partner meeting on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of March. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The aim of the meeting was to catch up on project activities, present the results of finalized tasks, address changes in the project timeline and plan the steps ahead. The partnership had a very productive meeting where all meeting goals were met and we continue our work with positive spirits.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
             
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We were also so lucky to get to visit the İzmir University of Democracy during the meeting. We got a lovely tour of the main school building by a wonderful welcoming committee, including the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Berna Dirim Mete, the Secretary General Dilek Karaman, and the Director of "Family and Women Implementation and Research Center" Hande Şahin. During our visit we shared a traditional Turkish lunch and discussed the social impact projects like AdultsOnTheMove! can bring to communities in Europe, as well as shared hopes for future cooperation with the university.  
          &#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Preliminary results reveal a gap between the reality and the perception of digital skill needs between employers and new employees

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;

           Digital transformation has changed both society and the economy with an ever-deepening impact on everyday life. However, until the COVID-19 pandemic, its impact on education and training was much more limited. The pandemic has demonstrated that having an education and training system which is fit for the digital age is essential.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            AdultsOnTheMove! aims to develop and produce method and tools that will help young, unemployed adults understand digital culture and become more digitally competent and attractive in the labor market. The project has collected data from young, unemployed adults and from company owners and leaders in all the partner countries. This has been done by quantitative research to help identify where the level of knowledge is at, what digital skills are desired, what expectations young adults have to new employers and what expectations employers have to newcomers in the labour market.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The preliminary results were as expected in many ways, but also shed light on some interesting facts regarding the knowledge of digital in the labour market.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Based on the results we have discovered that employers and managing personnel have an underwhelming knowledge and understanding of digital culture. This type of knowledge might therefore become a key competence amongst new employees in the future, as EU`s goals of digitalization will start taking effect throughout the labour market. It will be of great value for any business to acquire staff that can actively participate in, or preferably lead, the digital strategy in their company.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            It is also clear that the main focus must be on upskilling on the level of basic digital skills, by definition of the
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           OECD’s Skills for the Digital Economy – 2004
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           , with extra focus on Using a PC or a portable computer and Creating a spreadsheet. This conclusion is based on the fact that, not only did the participating management personnel answer that those skills where the most valuable and the skills that new employees have poorest competences in, but furthermore, the young adults do not consider themselves to no be in need of gaining more knowledge or competencies in those areas. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           This shows a clear split between the reality and the perception of needs and challenges between the two participating groups. The unemployed young adults seem to overestimate their digital competences and readyness for the labour market compared to the perceived reality of the employers.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The complete research report, with more detailed numbers, analysis, and results will be published on the AdultsOnTheMove! project website later this year.

             The entire team finally got to meet each other face-to-face during the first TPM meeting in Iceland. The meeting was supposed to be held in Turkey, but due to Covid-19 travel restrictions and uncertainty regarding travel to Turkey, the consortium agreed to move the meeting to Iceland.
              &#xD;
          &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Iceland greeted the AdultsOnTheMove! team with very typical Icelandic weather: breezy wind and rain, with a slight glimpse of blue sky every once in a while. The consortium did not let the weather hinder them from getting a glimpse of the geothermal geysir Strokkur, and getting even more wet at the majestic waterfall Gullfoss.
              &#xD;
          &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             The two-day meeting was very productive and fruitful and amongst other things the team managed to... :

               discuss and review the Project Handbook for the AdultsOnTheMove! project.

            &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
            &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
              
               discuss project management and budget details.
                &#xD;
              &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
            &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
            &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
              
               start, and finish, the collection and translation of data from the IO1 surveys, and thereafter begin the fundamental analysation of the data. 
              &#xD;
            &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
            &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
              
               present and discuss the technical framework of IO2.
              &#xD;
            &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
            &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
              
               create and agree on interview questions for IO2, based on the results from the surveys from IO1.
                &#xD;
              &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
            &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
            &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
              
               present and discuss functions for and the role of IO3.

              The South Iceland University Association showed great hospitality during the stay and ended the two-day meeting by taking the team on a visit to Selfoss Fab Lab. There they got an insightful and informative tour around the entire lab with project manager Magnús Stephensen. Magnús was also kind enough to teach the team how to use some of the creative machines in their facilities, making the visit a great end to the transnational meeting.
               &#xD;

          &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Digital Kick-Off meeting</title>

            The AdultsOnTheMove! team kicked the project off online.

            The first project meeting in the AdultsOnTheMove! project was held online due to covid-19 travel restrictions that hindered the team from meeting face-to-face in Norway. The team did not make this stop them from getting a good start on the project and held a fruitful digital meeting instead.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           All partners from Norway, Turkey, Greece and Iceland gave a good introduction of their organizations and later the team discussed the management, budget, activities and outputs of the project. A work plan was layd out and a good partnership has now begun a new journey.

           The project is based on identified needs common in all of Europe and the partnership aims to support unemployed young adults with an interest in digital culture to find their way out of unemployment and secure their entry into the labour market.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           AdultsOnTheMove! was assessed as highly relevant for the Erasmus + strategic partnership–enhancing and rewarding excellence in teaching, skills development, key competencies, and inclusion through creativity and arts. Likewise supporting the setting up of and access to upskilling pathways and enhancing innovative practices in a digital era. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
